Prime Minister Anutin Charnvirakul has made a statement to the Thai people after the announcement of Bureau of the Royal Household on the passing of Her Majesty Queen Sirikit The Queen Mother on 24 October 2025.
The statement was broadcast by the Television Pool of Thailand on 25 October. The Prime Minister said that the Government would arrange the royal funeral with the highest honors accorded to Her Majesty.
He invited all Thais to join the mourning for the passing of Her Majesty the Queen Mother, who is abundantly loved and most revered by the Thai people. They were also urged to exercise the power of love, unity, and loyalty to offer moral support to His Majesty the King and members of the Royal Family during this time of sorrow.
The Prime Minister described the passing of Her Majesty as the loss of the “Great Mother of the Land,” whose benevolence was immeasurable. Her Majesty performed numerous functions and activities with tireless efforts and royal wisdom throughout the long reign of His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej The Great.
Meanwhile, Government Spokesperson Siripong Angkasakulkiat stated that the Prime Minister would manage his participation in the ASEAN and APEC Summits and related meetings, where important issues, such as taxes, trade, and agreements would be discussed.
Thailand's participation has also been requested for meetings with many national leaders to discuss bilateral cooperation at these important events. Deputy Prime Minister Phiphat Ratchakitprakarn also stands ready to perform duties on his behalf, if necessary.
