Thailand is making significant steps to establish itself as a global medical and healthcare hub, attracting both international patients and investors. This effort aims not only to enhance healthcare services for the local population but also to build a strong and sustainable economy.
Recently, the Ministry of Public Health announced a 10-year strategic plan to position Thailand as a comprehensive international health center. The strategy is divided into three key areas for systematic and effective development:
1. Enhancing Competitiveness in the Comprehensive Medical Industry
This is the core strategy to make Thailand a medical hub, focusing on developing competitive capabilities, including medical technology, new innovations, advanced treatment options, and preparing highly skilled medical professionals.
2. Developing a Comprehensive Medical Industry Ecosystem
To ensure sustainable development, the government aims to build a complete medical ecosystem encompassing production, services, management, logistics, and efficient distribution, along with establishing suitable infrastructure.
3. Promoting Marketing and Public Relations
Public relations are crucial for establishing Thailand's international reputation. This strategy emphasizes promoting Thailand as a credible, safe, and competitive medical hub. It also involves negotiations with GCC, CLMV, and China.
This is to attract international tourists and patients to seek medical services in Thailand.
Thailand's ambition to become a Medical Hub is not just about generating revenue but also about building a positive global image. These three strategies are key to helping Thailand compete in the global market and grow steadily and sustainably in the future.
