Formation of Committees for the Organizing of HM the King’s 72nd Birthday Celebrations

The Cabinet, during its meeting on 3 October 2023, acknowledged the formation of committees to handle various tasks for the organizing of His Majesty the King’s sixth cycle, or 72nd, birthday anniversary, on 28 July 2024.

The Office of the Permanent Secretary of the Prime Minister’s Office reported that Prime Minister Srettha Thavisin had issued an order appointing the National Commission on the Auspicious Occasion of His Majesty the King’s Sixth Cycle Birthday Anniversary, chaired by the Prime Minister, to ensure that the celebrations are well organized, in honor of His Majesty.

The National Commission has also established seven committees responsible for various activities on this special occasion, as follows: 

1. Committee on Ceremonies, chaired by Deputy Prime Minister Somsak Thepsutin;

2. Committee on Projects and Activities, chaired by Deputy Prime Minister Somsak Thepsutin;

3. Committee on Public Relations, chaired by Minister Attached to the Prime Minister’s Office Puangpet Chunlaiad;

4. Committee on Safety and Traffic, chaired by Deputy Prime Minister Police General Phatcharavat Wongsuwan;

5. Committee on Documentation and Historical Records, chaired by Minister of Culture Sermsak Pongpanit;

6. Committee on Budget Request Screening, chaired by the Deputy Permanent Secretary of the Prime Minister’s Office, or the Inspector-General of the Prime Minister’s Office;

7. Committee on Permission for the Use of the Royal Emblem, chaired by Senior Expert of the Office of the Prime Minister Phumintra Plungsombut.
