The Department of Science Service (DSS) has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with TÜV Rheinland, a globally recognized organization, to strengthen the country’s capabilities in testing, inspection, and certification. The partnership aims to enhance Thailand’s National Quality Infrastructure (NQI) and support the rapid growth of advanced technologies, including robotics, automation systems, and intelligent vehicles.
The collaboration focuses on advancing Thailand’s potential in future mobility through academic and technical cooperation. Key areas include the development of testing and certification infrastructure for robotics and autonomous vehicles, as well as knowledge exchange and expert collaboration on safety standards for emerging technologies. The scope also covers industrial and service robotics, advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS), and connected and automated vehicle (CAV) technologies, alongside safety assessment and standardization frameworks.
This agreement marks a significant step in laying a strong foundation for Thailand’s next-generation automotive industry. It is expected to enhance the country’s industrial and service sectors, reinforce its quality infrastructure, and improve global competitiveness. Ultimately, the partnership will help drive the development of autonomous vehicle technology in Thailand, ensuring it progresses in a safe, sustainable, and internationally competitive manner.
