Dried Avocado from Tak, A GI Fruit Ready to Conquer Global Markets with Its Rich Flavor, Soft Texture, and Aroma

The Department of Intellectual Property has announced the registration of "Dried Avocado from Tak" as the fourth GI product of Tak province, following the previous registrations of Pae Jor Khaew Maesod, Tak Granite Mortar, and Hom Thong Phob Phra Banana. This registration is expected to enhance the value of agricultural products, create job opportunities, generate income for farmers, and build consumer confidence. Notably, this agricultural product has already generated over 1 billion baht annually for local farmers.

Mr. Vuttikrai Leewiraphan, Director-General of the Intellectual Property Department, revealed that Dried Avocado from Tak possesses unique characteristics due to the geographical conditions of Tak province, which is ideal for cultivation. The altitude and abundant water sources result in a product with a sticky texture, rich flavor, and aromatic scent, making it a distinctive item. Additionally, an event called "Phob Phra Agricultural Day" has been organized to promote and publicize agricultural products from Tak province, enhancing consumer awareness.

The registration of Dried Avocado from Tak as a GI product not only increases value and income for farmers in Tak province but also helps instill confidence in the quality of Thai agricultural products. This marks a significant step in enhancing the competitiveness of agricultural products in the global market while opening new opportunities for sustainable income for Thai farmers.
