The development of organic raw milk in Saraburi Province under the BCG (Bio-Circular-Green Economy) concept has fostered sustainability in the raw milk industry. Organic dairy farmers in the area have received support for practicing chemical-free and contaminant-free dairy farming, resulting in organic raw milk production reaching 129,600 kilograms per month. This production has also generated higher income for farmers by selling organic raw milk at a premium price compared to conventional milk.
Apart from raw milk production, farmers are encouraged to process it into various products, such as pasteurized milk, yogurt, and ice cream, to add value. They also manage farm waste by using cow manure to produce fertilizer and animal feed, reducing dependency on external factors, which is in line with circular economy principles.
Success in this area is attributed to the use of technology and innovation in breeding and raising cattle, ensuring animal welfare, and improving farm areas to be environmentally friendly for long-term sustainability. Farmers are encouraged to be more self-reliant, reduce reliance on imported materials, and focus on developing high-quality animal feed, while the government is encouraged to support and promote awareness of the importance of consuming organic milk.
