DE Ministry Orders Thailand Post to Freeze Delivery Rates Until April 15 Amid Rising Transport Costs

The Ministry of Digital Economy and Society has announced that Thailand Post will maintain current delivery service rates to ease the burden on the public amid rising transport costs linked to tensions in the Middle East.

Permanent Secretary Patchara Anantasillpa said the ministry had instructed Thailand Post to delay adjustments to delivery fees and closely assess potential impacts on the public. The move follows concerns that private logistics operators have begun increasing prices due to higher operational costs.

Thailand Post will freeze current shipping rates during the high-demand Songkran period until April 15, 2026. The measure aims to provide affordable service options for the public as parcel usage typically increases during the holiday.

From April 16, 2026, temporary price adjustments may apply to selected commercial services, including EMS and e-CoPost, until the situation returns to normal. However, basic postal services such as letters, printed materials, registered mail, and parcels will remain unchanged.

The policy reflects the government’s effort to reduce the impact of rising transportation costs while ensuring essential postal services remain accessible. The ministry emphasized that any future adjustments will be implemented carefully to minimize the burden on the public.
