A representative from Thailand’s trade sector met with the President of the China General Chamber of Commerce (CGCC) in Hong Kong, along with executives from PTT, to discuss cooperation in enhancing connectivity between Thailand and China to promote trade and investment in the region.
The President of CGCC Hong Kong emphasized their readiness to support the Thai government’s connectivity initiatives, urging Thailand to accelerate its efforts to enhance regional competitiveness. CGCC expressed willingness to invite its member companies to invest in Thailand and to act as a coordinator with other private companies to create business growth opportunities.
The discussions focused on connecting the high-speed rail route from China through Laos to Thailand and upgrading Ranong’s deep-sea port to establish a robust and competitive trade network in the region. CGCC believes that strong infrastructure will attract investors and increase Thailand’s economic value.
The Thai trade representative confirmed that the Thai government is committed to supporting Thai-Chinese connectivity, both by rail and by land, to facilitate comprehensive trade and investment. Thailand welcomes Chinese businesses interested in investing in the country.
