BOI Announces Record Investment in 2024 : 2,195 Projects in 9 Months Reflecting Global Confidence in Thailand as a Prime Investment Destination

The Board of Investment (BOI) has announced that the number of applications for investment promotion reached 2,195 projects this year, a 46% increase from the previous year, with total investments amounting to 722.528 billion baht, up by 42%. Investors cite Thailand as one of the most attractive investment destinations in the region.

Top five industries attracting the highest investment are :

1. Electronics and electrical appliances: 180 billion baht
2. Digital sector: 90 billion baht
3. Automotive and parts industry: 67 billion baht
4. Agriculture and food processing: 52 billion baht
5. Petrochemicals and chemicals: 34 billion baht

Foreign direct investment (FDI) applications rose by 66%, with 1,449 projects totaling over 540 billion baht, primarily from Singapore, China, Hong Kong, Taiwan, and Japan.

Investment is concentrated in eastern Thailand, particularly in Chonburi, Rayong, and Chachoengsao, totaling over 408 billion baht, with additional investment in central and northern regions.

This growth not only boosts Thailand’s economy but also demonstrates the country’s readiness to serve as a key destination for global investors.
