Beneath the Currents of Memory Exhibition

Beneath the Currents of Memory is a contemporary art exhibition held as part of GMS ART FEST 2026: Greater Mekong Subregion Contemporary Art Festival. Running from 8-23 August 2026 in That Phanom District, Nakhon Phanom, the exhibition presents works by six international artists from the GMS Artist Residency 2026.

Inspired by the landscapes, communities, and stories of the Mekong region, the exhibition explores themes of ecological change, migration, cultural heritage, and collective memory. Artworks are displayed across several venues in That Phanom, including riverside heritage buildings and community spaces, with the opening programme on 8 August featuring a public discussion on contemporary art and cultural diversity followed by a guided exhibition tour.
