5 New Measures for SMEs ! Government Tightens Control on Substandard Goods and Illegal Businesses

The Thai government has implemented strict measures to protect SMEs and enhance the competitiveness of Thai entrepreneurs, focusing on preventing illegal products and businesses from abroad that could harm the domestic market. The five main measures are as follows:

  1. Strict Law Enforcement : Emphasizing rigorous inspection and certification of product standards.
  2. Regulation Improvement : Foreign business platform operators must register as legal entities in Thailand.
  3. Value-Added Tax (VAT) : Online sellers from abroad selling in Thailand must register for VAT.
  4. SME Development : Enhancing the competitiveness of Thai entrepreneurs and supporting exports through e-commerce platforms.
  5. Collaboration with Trade Partners : Promoting trade via e-commerce to international markets.

These actions will be continuously monitored and reported to ensure that the products sold in Thailand are of high quality and comply with the law, thereby creating a favorable environment for domestic entrepreneurs.
