4 Historic Works from 1991 IMF-World Bank Group Annual Meeting in Thailand

The general public—both Thai and international visitors—is invited to explore the Queen Sirikit National Convention Center (QSNCC), the venue for the 2026 Annual Meetings of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) and the World Bank Group, taking place from 12–18 October 2026.

35 years have passed… but these masterpieces remain. Originally showcased at the 1991 Annual Meetings of the IMF and the World Bank Group, four remarkable works of Thai art and craftsmanship can still be found at QSNCC today.

Visitors to QSNCC can discover these four historic works:

• ”Cham Lak Mai” (Woodcarving)

• “Kalpavriksha Door” with Naga door handles

• “Elephant Pillars with Globe”

• “Lokuttara” (Transcendental)

More than three decades later, these works continue to stand as a testament to Thailand’s rich artistic heritage and the enduring legacy of the 1991 Annual Meetings.

Have you seen any of these remarkable works of art at QSNCC?
