The Supersports Laguna Phuket Marathon is one event that running enthusiasts should not have missed. This annual marathon event, which gathers runners from around the world, was held at the Laguna Grove, Thalang District, Phuket Province, from June 10 to 11, 2023.
The short race courses, which took place on June 10, 2023, included 2km, 5km, and 10.5km runs. The routes used the public roads in the Laguna Phuket hotel area and Cherngtalay Subdistrict, passing through the Laguna village, golf course, and Lepang beach road.
The long-distance races, half-marathon, and marathon took place on June 11, 2023, using public roads of Cherngtalay Sub-district. The route passed through Wat Ban Don community, Thalang Chanasuek field, headed towards the old airport road, used the beach road in Nai Yang to watch the morning sea, and then turned back to Ban Pru Jampa, Nasoi road, passing the Angsana Villas Resort Phuket, and used the Lepang beach road to return to the Laguna Phuket area, similar to the short-distance running routes.
The event provided various services, including medical services with a mobile nursing unit along the route and ambulances on standby at specific points to provide assistance in emergencies. Water stations were available every 2 - 2.5 kilometers, serving drinking water and electrolyte drinks. Fruit services (bananas and watermelons) were provided along the half-marathon and marathon routes. Portable toilets were available along the half-marathon and marathon routes. There were kilometer markers every 1 kilometer along with directional signs throughout the race route.
