Light and Color Paknam Lantern Festival

The Light and Color Paknam Lantern Festival 2023 will be held from 1 to 12 February 2023 at the Thammakatanyu Shrine (Sian Lo Tai Tien Kong), Samut Prakan Province.

In addition to the exorcism ceremony and the installation of magnificent lanterns, the festival will also feature the leaving of offerings for good luck with the five gods, as people wish for success throughout the Year of the Dog. Visit  the Lone God of Destiny room, or Tai Suan Ear room, the sole place in the Samut Prakan province where this takes place.

Take part in the ceremonial crossing of the seven-star bridge, which is regarded as a lucky occasion, which will make trade prosper. People will also be praying to the five gods for wealth and success throughout the year.

More than 5,000 magnificent, stunning lanterns, including cartoon lanterns, fantasy lanterns, god lanterns, and diverse lanterns imported from Taiwan, will decorate the shrine on this occasion.

Fireworks and Thailand's largest carved green jade lion will also be featured, as well as performances of the lion dance, puppet shows, competitions for painting lanterns, and concerts by well-known musicians.
