Historic tourism is one of the most valuable sides of cultural tourism. Visiting historic sites is an essential way to learn about the country’s history and culture, by seeing first-hand valuable architectural works that reflect the living conditions of the generations long gone.
Therefore, to preserve the value and beauty of historic sites, all visitors should follow these simple guidelines:
- Do not touch or move anything within the archaeological site. It can change or even damage its appearance and its authenticity;
- It is strictly forbidden to write, draw, or otherwise form marks on any part of the archaeological site;
- Do not do anything that causes damage to the historic site;
- Never dispose of garbage or waste in historic sites;
- It is forbidden to climb or tread on archaeological structures or artifacts, since ancient structures are made of materials that can easily break – even stone gets weak with time;
- Stealing relics and taking pieces back as souvenirs is strictly forbidden;
- Do not make noise or disturb others, because historic sites are preserved for viewing and contemplating, not for playing.
