Modern NIT: New dimension of medical services

The Neurological Institute of Thailand (NIT), Department of Medicine, is a state hospital for brain, spinal cord, and neurological diseases that has been named the best in the country for brain and nervous system care. The standard is recognized around the world.

Currently, the Institute of Neurology has altered the nature of access to health services in public hospitals by introducing cutting-edge technologies to benefit patient health care. Treatment and service quality are constantly being improved through the use of advanced technology, such as SMART OPD, telemedicine, and the establishment of a nationwide care network for stroke patients, robot-assisted surgery for epilepsy and other encephalopathy, minimally invasive spinal surgery, brain pacemaker implantation surgery in Parkinson's patients, neurocognitive disorders, and epilepsy.

It has also developed a series of benefits and access to reimbursement for stroke medical care services by catheterization, establishing a program to honor the treatment of brain, spinal cord, and neurological diseases that cannot be reimbursed, and comprehensive elderly care in accordance with Ministry of Public Health policy.

This includes the creation of the NIT Plus application, which can dispense medications and deliver them via postal service, thereby reducing the patient’s travel expenses.

However, because the world is changing so quickly these days, the Institute of Neurology must also develop cutting-edge medical service technology. The ultimate goal is for patients suffering from brain, spinal cord, and nervous system disorders to receive modern care while remaining comfortable, healthy, and happy.
