Thailand and Vietnam Advance their Cooperation on Higher Education, Science, Technology, and Innovation

Thailand and Vietnam have pushed forward their cooperation on higher education, science, technology, and innovation by consulting together, exchanging opinions about higher education, science, research, and innovation, and agreeing to cooperate in the following ways:

  1.  Arranging the first conference of the joint committees between Thailand and Vietnam concerning science and technology, including the Ministry of Higher Education, Science, Research, and Innovation of Thailand and the Ministry of Science and Technology of Vietnam. This is under the cooperation framework described in the memorandum of agreement (MOA) of Science, Technology, and Innovation in 2007, organized in Vietnam. Furthermore, it is expected to be organized again in June 2023 with the objective of consulting, reviewing, and finding out guidelines or activities to cooperate in the near future.
  2. Developing human resources between Thai and Vietnam by promoting, supporting, and expanding the cooperation between higher education institutions in Thailand and Vietnam, by organizing the Thai curriculum and Thai studies in higher education institutions in Vietnam and organizing the Vietnamese curriculum and Vietnamese studies in higher education institutions in Thailand. Additionally, Thai centers and Vietnamese centers will be established in higher education institutions in both countries. Currently, the higher levels of the private sector in Vietnam need some staff and professional workforce with Thai and Vietnamese skills; therefore, they need cooperation in developing and increasing the capabilities of human resources in these areas.
