NDTP: Thailand's international digital trade platform driving the Thai economy

The Thai government and relevant organizations are committed to creating competitive opportunities and propelling the Thai economy on the global stage, setting policies to develop intercountry systems to support and prepare for various digital transactions. They promote equal trade opportunities for all business groups and enable sustainable growth under a platform called the National Digital Trade Platform (NDTP).

The NDTP is a Thai platform for exporters and importers to contact, coordinate, send, and receive electronic documents related to export and import with private and public sector organizations within the country and partners abroad.

The objectives and benefits of establishing and developing the NDTP include:

  • Increasing operational efficiency for exporters and importers in Thailand
  • Making business coordination for export and import easier, more convenient, and faster
  • Helping to prevent unethical or redundant transactions
  • Helping to increase access to funding sources for trade for small businesses or SMEs in the country

The NDTP is a Thai international digital trade platform driven by the Joint Standing Committee on Commerce, Industry and Banking (JSCCIB):

  • The Thai Chamber of Commerce
  • The Federation of Thai Industries
  • The Thai Bankers' Association

Success in developing the platform in phase 1 has led to a trial run, prompting the acceleration of NDTP platform development in a public-private partnership (PPP) format, aiming to be operational within 2024.
