Conditions for Considering Permission to Import Firearms, Ammunition, Explosives, Fireworks, and Imitation Firearms

The request for permission to import firearms also includes all types of weapons that use the explosive or propelling force of gas or compressed air, or any mechanism, to fire bullets. The term "ammunition" encompasses individual bullets, scatter bullets, shrapnel, grenades, torpedoes, bombs, and rockets, whether they contain gas charges or not. "Fireworks'' include sparklers, firecrackers, and windcrackers, while "imitation firearms" refer to items that could be mistaken for firearms due to their shape and characteristics. Here are the conditions for considering the permit to import firearms, ammunition, explosives, fireworks, and imitation firearms:

  1. The importer of firearms and ammunition must be registered as a customs-passed person and/or delegate power to another person as listed in the customs-passed persons registry.
  2. Each order permission slip is valid for 1 year from the date on which the permission is granted. Once the permit holder has placed an order within the validity period of the permit, even if the ordered goods are shipped in later, no matter how long it takes, they are allowed to receive the goods according to that permit.
  3. A request for a land transport permit must be submitted at the port where the goods will be imported.
  4. The following items are exempt from applying for a land transport permit: military and police firearms, ammunition, as well as regular seafaring ships, train, and aircraft firearms and ammunition, which have been inspected by customs officials according to the law.
  5. If an importer of firearms or ammunition fails to apply for a permit within ninety days from the delivery date, or in the case where the local registrar has allowed the import and the importer does not collect the permit within sixty days from the day the registrar grants permission, or fails to export the firearms or ammunition, or having received permission to import firearms or ammunition, fails to collect the firearms or ammunition from the customs officer until the permit expires, or an importer who is passing through or temporarily staying in the kingdom does not reclaim their firearms when leaving the kingdom, then the firearms or ammunition will become the property of the state.
  6. Firearms and ammunition that the registrar does not permit to be imported will be ordered by the customs department to be sent back by the importer within thirty days from the day the importer received or is considered to have known the order. The importer must perform customs procedures for sending out goods according to regulations. If the importer does not perform the procedures within the specified time, the firearms and ammunition will be considered abandoned property.

All of this, the procedure according to the manual will start counting the duration from when the officer has checked and found that all documents are complete as specified in the public manual, and the officer's actions will be in accordance with the order of application submission.
