Criteria, methods, and conditions for obtaining a cross-border transporter permit

     Cross-border transporters and destination transporters must be the original transporters or a segment of the original transporters, whose names are specified in the consignment note, or have evidence showing that they have been assigned by the original shipper, or have been assigned by the person to whom the consignment reaches. Moreover, they must have been approved by the Department of Land Transport to operate as a road freight transport operator between Thailand and Laos, and must have a guarantee agreement on cross-border transportation with the Customs Department, pledging to comply with the Customs Department's rules and the conditions stipulated in the contract. If the international transportation license from the Department of Land Transport expires, the cross-border transport guarantee contract shall be deemed to have ended.

     Procedure to apply for a cross-border transporter permit:

  1. Check the completeness of the documents, verifying the petition form and supporting documents, and register to receive the petition.
  2. Verify the company information (including checking the information on offenses and the correctness of the guarantee letter (if any), and present the matter to the authorized approver.
  3. Signing / the committee resolves by the person authorized to consider the approval.
