Documentation and procedures for issuing import permits for concentrated hazardous substances samples for production and formulation into finished products

     The applicants seeking to obtain a permit for importing concentrated hazardous substance samples for the purpose of production and formulation into finished products must adhere to the announcements by the Ministry of Agriculture and Cooperatives. 

     These include the registration, issuance of certificates, and renewal of certificates of hazardous substances under the responsibility of the Department of Agricultural Extension, as stipulated by the 2008 regulations, and the announcement of the Department of Agricultural Extension specifying the details, standards, and methods of registration, issuance, and renewal of certificates of hazardous substances for which the Department of Agricultural Extension is responsible, as stipulated by the 2009 regulations, as well as the announcement specifying the concentration rate in each formula of registered hazardous substances.

     To issue an import permit for concentrated hazardous substance samples for production and formulation into finished products, the following documents must be provided:

  1. Application for permission to produce or import samples of hazardous substances as per form Wor Oor/ Kor Sor/Kor Wor Kor 12 (1 original copy).
  2. Power of Attorney letter, attached with a copy of the ID card and the stamp duty as prescribed by law. All document copies must be certified true copies, including a copy of the ID card of the authorizer (1 original copy).
  3. Letter explaining the purpose of importing concentrated hazardous substance samples for production and formulation into finished products, at what ratios, and in which formulas (1 original copy).
  4. Application for use of trade name (1 original copy).

     The steps for issuing an import permit for concentrated hazardous substance samples for production and formulation into finished products are as follows:

  1. Verification of document completeness: The applicant submits the application for permission to produce or import hazardous substance samples as per form Wor Oor/ KorS Sor/Kor Wor Kor 12 along with the complete supporting documents. The officer then verifies the document completeness as per item 1, which takes 1 working day.
  2. Officers review the correctness of the documents and proceed to issue the import permit for hazardous substance samples as per form Wor Oor/ Kor Sor/Kor Wor Kor 14, which takes 1 working day.
  3. Authorized person signs on the import permit for hazardous substance samples as per form Wor Oor/ Kor Sor/Kor Wor Kor 14, which takes 1 working day.

     The fee for the import permit for hazardous substances is 300 Baht. Services can be availed at the Hazardous Substance Control Group, Plant and Agricultural Material Control Division, Department of Agricultural Extension, Tel. +66 2579 7986.
