For those who enjoy driving trips amidst natural settings, we recommend visiting "Khong Ping Ngu" in Sakon Nakhon Province, when you have a chance to travel to the northeast region of Thailand. Characterized by winding roads that resemble a slithering or grilling snake, it is located on Highway 213 (Sakon Nakhon - Kalasin) near the Phu Phan Rajanives Mansion and is considered one of the most beautiful routes in Thailand.
To fully appreciate Khong Ping Ngu, you need to observe it from a high vantage point. Therefore, the Department of Highways has opened the "Falling in Love with Ping Ngu" service point as a new check-in spot located at the Khong Ping Ngu curve. This is housed at the Kham Hom Highway Office on Highway 213, Sakon Nakhon - Kalasin route, between Sangkor and Sakon Nakhon, at kilometer marker 155+600, in the Huay Yang sub-district, Mueang district, Sakon Nakhon province.
There is also a departmental welfare shop selling beverages, food, and souvenirs. Visitors can sit and enjoy a coffee or drink, take photos, and also purchase local OTOP products.
Furthermore, the Department of Highways has future plans to develop the area around the Khong Ping Ngu curve into a tent-pitching site, free of charge. This would cater to tourists wanting to experience the cool weather during the winter season. It offers another option for both locals and tourists who wish to experience the cool weather in the Northeast, and conveniently visit popular tourist destinations such as Luang Puu Man, Praya Tao Ngoi, Wat Tham Pha Daen. Additionally, just 200 meters away is the Kham Hom Waterfall, one of the most popular tourist destinations in Sakon Nakhon Province.
