TAT in Collaboration with Crypto City Connext (CCC) to Launch the "Sukjai Smart Travel" Project, Promoting Modern Travel Modernly throughout Thailand in the Form of Digital Coupon, Piloted to Collect the Characters of Nong Sukjai in 5 Provinces and 5 Regi

The Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT), in collaboration with Crypto City Connext (CCC), announces the launch of the "Sukjai Smart Travel" project, welcoming a new "Nong Sukjai" in the form of a digital coupon (a “non-fungible token,” or NFT), to persuade tourists to travel and collect characters of Nong Sukjai from tourist attractions across the country and receive benefits from over 30 entrepreneur alliances. It is a way to jointly promote Thai tourism with art and culture, together with proactively using digital technology to add value to tourism, stepping into “smart tourism.”

For the “Sukjai Smart Travel” project, TAT and Crypto City Connext will operate in two phases in 2023. In the first phase, the project will start giving away Nong Sukjai under the concept “Songkran Edition 2023,” which has been designed by well-known artists, passing on the identity of tourist attractions with Nong Sukjai in Songkran Festival costumes between 13 and 15 April 2023, a total of 5,550 pieces in the random format. The costumes are divided into Normal Nong Sukjai (5,000 pieces), Rare Nong Sukjai (500 pieces), and Super Rare Nong Sukjai (50 pieces).

The activities are being piloted in five provinces at popular tourist spots for the Songkran Festival, which are Ratchaprasong Road, Bangkok (1,110 pieces); Nimmanhaemin Road, Chiang Mai (1,110 pieces); Dibuk Road, Phuket (1,110 pieces); Khao Niao Road, Khon Kaen (1,110 pieces); and Yom Chinda Road, Rayong (1,110 pieces). After that, in the second phase of the project, an activity will be conducted to distribute Nong Sukjai in the “Community Edition 2023” set, totaling 300,000 pieces, in 15 tourist attractions and communities in the same five provinces between 15 May and 15 August 2023.

Those who are interested can join the activity by using a phone to scan the QR code on the information sign at the designated tourist destination to open the CCC Wallet or on the website www.//ccc.omwallet.app. Then set your own Wallet Pin and scan the QR code on the Nong Sukjai standee to receive an NFT. Holders of "Nong Sukjai" will also receive benefits or discounts on tourism products and services through the Crypto City Connext Wallet during the project period, until August 2023, from more than 30 partners who support the project.
