Global Sustainable Tourism Criteria combined with sustainability management promotes tourism and provides information

The Global Sustainable Tourism Council Criteria, or GSTC-D, are intended for a destination or attraction where groups or individuals or agencies will be responsible for performing any  actions necessary in order to meet the criteria. The GSTC-D has a broad scope, and the criteria can be applied to a diverse range of destinations in any part of the world and of any type, such as urban, rural, mountainous, coastal, or mixed-use. The criteria can apply to both large destinations, such as cities or regions, and smaller destinations like national parks, local community groups, and so on.

One of the factors for sustainable tourism development is tourism promotion and providing tourists with information about tourist attractions. The information and promotional materials for tourist attractions must be accurate, with appropriate content in terms of products, services, and sustainability. Marketing messages and other communications must reflect the attraction's value, reflect its commitment to sustainability, and include treating local people, culture, and nature with respect for tourists' access and participation in integrated sustainable tourism.
