The Global Sustainable Tourism Council (GSTC) criteria were developed to help people understand the concept of sustainable tourism. The GSTC Criteria, or GSTC-D, are the primary criteria that should be addressed by a tourist attraction or destination in terms of sustainable management, socioeconomic impact, cultural impact, and environmental impact. It is applicable to the entire tourism industry.
Climate change and global warming are currently having a direct impact on tourism, particularly in natural areas. As a result, if we honestly consider the impact of our actions on the environment and make efforts to promote the best use of local ecosystems, we may have a beneficial effect on climate change adaptation. As a result, developing sustainable tourism is critical.
In order to adapt to climate change, attraction management strategies and action plans must address climate change, where attractions must address the associated risks and opportunities. Adaptation strategies for climate change are intended to guide the design, development, and management of tourism facilities.
Another important point is that residents, businesses, and tourists should all be informed about climate change forecasts and current and future risks. At the same time, evidence of the impact or contribution to the local ecosystem is required.
