“Riak Chang” Online App for Home Improvements, Additions, and Repairs
Problems with home repairs are a common source of frustration, but thanks to a new app called “Riak Chang,” released by the Ministry of the Interior at the start of 2023, homeowners no longer have to worry about having to track down a reliable service provider when they need one. This is especially helpful for those who live in smaller homes but have never been able to find a reliable professional to fix their problems. More importantly, the application can help you contact a technician to provide services that meet the needs. The Department of Public Works and Town and Country Planning has developed public services in all 76 provinces through “Riak Chang” by surveying, screening, and importing skilled technicians. There is now a database of 8,500 technicians across the country, including experience information, addresses, and phone numbers, which will be imported and updated on a regular basis.
Simply navigate to https://webs-apps.dpt.go.th/riakchang/main.php and follow it step by step. Then, fill out what type of technician you want – electrician, plumber, air conditioner technician, plasterer, carpenter, door-window technician, furniture technician, painter, tiler, roofer, metalworker, builder – as well as choosing the limit on how much budget you have, from no limit and a minimum of 5,000 baht to 100,000 baht, and you even have the ability to specify the name of the technician. It’s convenient for them, too, if you can provide the name and province, district, and subdistrict of the home that needs to be repaired.
This application is not only open to Thai citizens, but also to foreigners residing in Thailand. They can use this platform to contact service providers to repair their homes.
