The steps for inspecting individuals entering Thailand through a border checkpoint

     When travelling to Thailand by land transport, you must know the following procedures and practices for the inspection of travel documents of individuals entering Thailand through border checkpoints:

  1. Present your travel document to the officer at the border checkpoint;
  2. The officer will verify the accuracy of the travel document and confirm that the person presenting it is the same person;
  3. The person must not be prohibited from entering the country:
  • If no record is found, the officer will check the type of stamp and record the image and data in the system. The officer will then stamp and return the travel documents according to the type of inspection;
  • If a record is found, the supervisor in charge of the inspection will conduct a further investigation, take charge of that person, and will remove that person from the Kingdom.

     Having knowledge of the correct criteria and procedures will greatly facilitate the process of planning to travel into Thailand by land transport.

The documents required for the entry and exit inspections are as follows:

  1. A passport or any substitute document;
  2. An arrival-departure card (Tor Mor 6).
