Application by foreigners to stay in Thailand for investment purposes

          For foreigners wishing to extend their stay in Thailand for the purpose of investment, the first consideration is the amount of investment. In the case of an investment of not less than 3 million baht, the requirements are as follows:

1. The applicant must hold a Non-Immigrant Visa;
2. They must have entered Thailand before 1 October 2006, and have been allowed to stay in Thailand for an investment of not less than 3 million baht;
3. Proof of money transfer into Thailand in the amount of not less than 3 million baht;
4. Proof of investment by purchasing a condominium unit from an agency or related public agency at a purchase price of not less than 3 million baht;
5. Proof of investment by depositing fixed money with a bank registered in Thailand with more than 50% Thai nationality shareholders, not less than 3 million baht;
6. Proof of investment by purchasing government bonds or state enterprise bonds of at least 3 million baht;
7. Proof of total investment under (4), (5), or (2) not less than 3 million baht.

In the case of an investment of not less than 10 million baht, the requirements are as follows:

1. They must hold a Non-Immigrant Visa;
2. Proof of money transfer into Thailand in the amount of not less than 10 million baht;
3. Proof of investment by purchasing or renting a condominium unit from an agency or related public agency at a purchase or rental price of not less than 10 million baht;
4. Proof of investment by depositing fixed money with a bank registered in Thailand with more than 50% Thai nationality shareholders, not less than 10 million baht;
5. Proof of investment by purchasing government bonds or state enterprise bonds of at least 10 million baht;
6. Proof of total investment under (4), (5), or (2) not less than 10 million baht.


Required documents for an investment of not less than 3 million baht:

1. TM.7 form;
2. Copy of the applicant's passport;
3. Copy of proof of money transfer from abroad to Thailand;
4. Copy of the condominium unit sales and purchase agreement and copy of the registration showing ownership of the unit from the government section or related agency (only in the case of purchasing a condominium unit);
5. Certificate of deposit from the bank and copy of deposit receipt (only in the case of investment by deposit);
6. Copy of bonds (only in the case of investing in government or state enterprise bonds);

Required documents for an investment of not less than 10 million baht:

1. TM.7 form;
2. Copy of the applicant's passport;
3. Copy of proof of money transfer from abroad to Thailand;
4. Copy of the condominium unit sales and purchase agreement and copy of the registration showing ownership of the unit from the government section or related agency (only in the case of purchasing a condominium unit) or copy of a long-term lease agreement;
5. Certificate of deposit from the bank and copy of deposit receipt (only in the case of investment by deposit);
6. Copy of bonds (only in the case of investing in government or state enterprise bonds).
