The Office of Transport and Traffic Policy and Planning (OTP) continues to develop a web application to enhance traffic and transportation management in the Eastern Economic Corridor (EEC), covering Chachoengsao, Chonburi, and Rayong provinces. This initiative is part of a broader study on Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS), aimed at improving efficiency and addressing traffic challenges in Thailand’s key economic zones.
The application will provide real-time access for both the public and businesses to critical information, such as traffic conditions, accident-prone areas, truck movement data, violation detections, and monthly traffic reports. It leverages technology like GPS, CCTV, Bluetooth, and Microwave Radar to enhance travel planning and cargo transportation efficiency.
Currently, the project is in the planning and implementation phase, and it is expected to be completed by January 2025, before being submitted to the Ministry of Transport for execution. OTP believes that the ITS system will modernize EEC’s traffic infrastructure, ensuring sustainable economic and transportation expansion in the years ahead.
