Important Update for Travelers: Thailand's National Parks Seasonal Closures

Attention all nature enthusiasts and travelers! The Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) has released an important advisory regarding the seasonal closure of attractions in many of Thailand’s national parks. For the year 2024, the Department of National Parks, Wildlife and Plant Conservation (DNP) has announced that 134 out of the 156 national parks in the country will be temporarily closed.

This annual closure is a vital part of Thailand's commitment to sustainable environmental management and conservation of its natural treasures. The closure periods vary across the different national parks, primarily due to weather conditions, especially during the rainy season. These temporary closures not only ensure the safety of visitors but also allow time for the ecosystems to recover and rejuvenate.

Included in this year's closure list is the upcoming Jedkod-Pongkonsao Nature Study and Ecotourism Center in Saraburi. The DNP has provided a detailed schedule of the 2024-2025 closure periods for these parks, categorized by their locations in the respective Protected Areas Regional Offices.

Before planning a visit, it’s important for visitors to acquaint themselves with the specific rules and regulations of each national park. For additional information and to make reservations, travelers can reach out to the National Park Office at Tel: +66 (0) 2562 0760-3 or +66 (0) 2561 0777 ext. 1743, 1744. You can also find more details on the DNP’s official website and their Facebook page, National Parks of Thailand.

Stay informed and plan your trips accordingly to enjoy Thailand’s natural beauty responsibly!
