DE Minister Finalizes Deal with Huawei for AI & Cloud Workforce Development, Expected to Generate 60 Billion Baht in 5 Years

Thailand is gearing up to become a regional hub for AI and Cloud technology. The Ministry of Digital Economy and Society (DE) has announced a successful agreement with Huawei, the leading Chinese technology firm, to invest in establishing an AI and Cloud talent development center in Thailand. The project aims to train 50,000 skilled professionals over the next five years, with an expected revenue generation of up to 60 billion baht for the Thai economy.


At a meeting held in Shanghai, the Ministry of Digital Economy engaged in discussions with several leading Chinese tech companies. The significant deal was sealed with Huawei to set up an AI & Cloud talent development center in Thailand. This initiative is designed not only to address the shortage of high-tech professionals but also to generate substantial income for those trained under the program. Additionally, the Ministry plans to attract other technology companies to establish their regional headquarters in Thailand to support the AI and Cloud HUB policy, further boosting investment in advanced technology sectors.


This crucial agreement marks a significant step towards positioning Thailand as a regional AI and Cloud hub. Huawei's talent development project will enhance skills and create job opportunities in advanced technology fields. The Ministry of Digital Economy remains committed to driving Thailand's economic growth through continuous investment and technological development.
