7 Policies of the Ministry of Public Health 2025

The Ministry of Public Health has announced seven key policies for 2025, focusing on enhancing the country’s health system in terms of service delivery, disease prevention, and health economy development. One highlight is the tax reduction measure for those who take care of their health, aiming to reduce chronic non-communicable diseases (NCDs).

The seven key policies of the Ministry of Public Health for 2025 include:

  1. Expanding the 30 Baht Universal Healthcare Service: Expanding access to healthcare services nationwide and developing medical technologies such as telemedicine and AI.
  2. Improving Access to Mental Health and Drug Rehabilitation Services: Enhancing mental health services and drug rehabilitation systems to be more inclusive and higher quality.
  3. Reducing Non-Communicable Diseases (NCDs): Supporting measures to reduce NCDs through health promotion and risk factor control, such as enacting laws to regulate e-cigarettes and tobacco.
  4. Strengthening Community Health Networks: Developing village health volunteers (VHVs) to play a key role in promoting health in communities and monitoring diseases.
  5. Caring for Vulnerable Groups: Providing comprehensive services and improving care for vulnerable groups in remote areas.
  6. Boosting the Health Economy: Promoting health tourism and traditional Thai medicine, and developing Thai herbal products to exceed 100 billion baht in value, by 2027.
  7. Managing Public Health Resources: Increasing the production of medical personnel and improving hospital management for greater efficiency and environmental friendliness.

These policies aim to create a sustainable and inclusive health system, focusing on preventing diseases, caring for vulnerable groups, and enhancing the economic value of traditional Thai medicine and herbs.
