Thailand Sets Systematic Goals to Reduce Greenhouse Gases Toward the NDC Target for 2030

Thailand has set a goal to reduce greenhouse gas emissions by 40% by 2030, equivalent to 222.3 million tons of CO2. This plan is divided into two main parts: targets that can be achieved domestically (33.3% or 184.8 million tons) and those requiring international support (6.7% or 37.5 million tons). This aligns with the global goal to limit temperature rise to no more than 1.5°C.

The plan emphasizes collaboration among five key sectors: energy, transportation, industrial processes, waste management, and agriculture. The aim is to maximize reductions in greenhouse gas emissions from these sectors. Achieving this goal will help Thailand transition to a low-carbon economy and implement sustainable climate adaptation measures.
