Thailand is making significant progress! The Civil Aviation Training Institute (CATI) proudly announced its achievement as the first institution in the country to receive certification for the "ATC (CBTA)" course from the Civil Aviation Authority of Thailand (CAAT) in accordance with international ICAO standards on April 21, 2025.
This course transforms air traffic controller training through a Competency-Based Training and Assessment (CBTA) system that focuses on practical skills and clear, measurable outcomes. This ensures that Thai aviation personnel possess world-class capabilities.
Mrs. Monporn Charoensri, Deputy Minister of Transport, praised this success, stating that it not only enhances personnel capabilities but also strengthens the future safety of Thai aviation. The governor of CATI emphasized that this is a crucial step in building strong Thai aviation standards, preparing the industry to face new challenges.
In June 2025, CATI will open applications for candidates from leading aviation agencies nationwide to join the CBTA training program. This initiative aims to drive Thailand’s skies toward greater safety and sustainable international connectivity. Look forward to the first generation of professional air traffic controllers soon!
