Thailand Concludes the 33rd SEA Games in Grand Style, Reaffirming Its Position as the 14-Time Overall Champion

Thailand concluded the 33rd SEA Games with a dominant performance, collecting 233 gold medals and securing the top position on the medal table. This achievement further cements Thailand’s legacy as the most successful nation in SEA Games history, with 14 overall “King of Gold Medals” titles.

The 2025 SEA Games, held in Thailand from 9 to 20 December 2025, highlighted Thai sporting excellence. Competing in 50 sports with 573 gold medals at stake (reduced from the initial 574 due to the cancellation of one gold medal event), Thailand earned 233 gold, 154 silver, and 112 bronze medals, demonstrating depth, consistency, and competitive strength.

This achievement marks Thailand’s first return to the top of the SEA Games medal table in a decade, since 2015 in Singapore. Notably, Thailand set a new all-time record, surpassing Vietnam’s 205 gold medals from 2022.

Throughout history, Thailand has been a pillar of ASEAN sports, from the SEAP Games era to the present SEA Games. Securing the overall gold medal crown 14 times reinforces Thailand’s status as a leading sporting nation in Southeast Asia. 🏅🇹🇭🔥
