Dr. Kongsak Yodmanee, Governor of the Sports Authority of Thailand (SAT), presided over the ASEAN Para Games 2025 Flag-Raising Ceremony. He was joined by Mr. Anupong Suksomnit, Governor of Nakhon Ratchasima Province, Major General Osoth Bhavilai, President of the ASEAN Para Sports Federation (APSF), and other senior officials from SAT, APSF, and Nakhon Ratchasima Province. The ceremony took place at the Opera Stage, Thao Suranari Monument, Nakhon Ratchasima Province, on 17 January 2026.
Dr. Kongsak Yodmanee stated that the ASEAN Para Games represent sporting excellence as well as friendship, unity, and mutual respect. These core values unite the ASEAN community through sport. As the competition approaches, the Organising Committee hopes all participants will have meaningful experiences and strengthen bonds within the regional sporting community. He added that the Organising Committee is fully prepared to support athletes throughout their stay, ensuring their convenience and well-being. Dr. Kongsak extended his best wishes, encouraging all athletes to compete with determination and sportsmanship, uphold fairness, and value every memorable moment at the 13th ASEAN Para Games.
After the remarks, the flags of the 10 participating ASEAN nations were raised. The countries are Brunei Darussalam, Indonesia, Lao PDR, Malaysia, Myanmar, the Philippines, Singapore, Timor-Leste, Vietnam, and the host nation, Thailand. The ceremony symbolized peace, unity, and solidarity in the ASEAN region.
The 13th ASEAN Para Games, hosted by Thailand, will officially take place in Nakhon Ratchasima Province from 20–26 January 2026. The Games will feature 19 sports: Athletics, Archery, Badminton, Football 5-a-side, Boccia, Chess, Cycling, Football 7-a-side, Goalball, Judo, Powerlifting, Swimming, Table Tennis, Sitting Volleyball, Shooting, Wheelchair Basketball, Wheelchair Fencing, Wheelchair Tennis, and Bowling. A total of 493 gold medals will be contested.
