The website “Brilliant Maps” has ranked the world’s top airports with the most airlines operating scheduled flights. According to the data for 16 April 2025, Suvarnabhumi Airport in Bangkok has taken the top spot globally, showing the greatest number of different airlines serving it.
Bangkok Suvarnabhumi Airport handles a total of 113 airlines, followed by Paris Charles de Gaulle Airport (105), Dubai International Airport (97), Istanbul Airport (93), Rome Leonardo da Vinci – Fiumicino Airport (92), Milan Malpensa Airport (86), Shanghai Pudong International Airport (83), Narita International Airport (83), Singapore Changi Airport (82), and Frankfurt Airport (80).
Airports of Thailand (AOT) is proceeding with several expansion projects at Suvarnabhumi Airport, allowing it to accommodate 120 million passengers annually. Projects include the terminal’s eastern expansion and the construction of the South Terminal and the fourth runway. The AOT has also applied digital technology to provide passengers with better and faster service, while offering an impressive travel experience for visitors. The move is expected to improve the service quality and convenience, aligning with the Government’s target to make Suvarnabhumi Airport one of the top 20 airports in the world.
