The Power of Opportunity! Ministry of Education Supports Disabled People to Continue Their Education and Develop Their Skills

The Ministry of Education supports education and vocational skills for students with disabilities, believing that everyone has value. The ministry recently co-hosted an event to develop potential and life skills for students with disabilities, transitioning into the academic year 2024. Pol. Gen. Permpoon Chidchob, Minister of Education, presided over the opening ceremony for this capacity-building and life skills-enhancement activity. The event was reported on by Mr. Yotphon Venugoseth, Secretary-General of the Vocational Education Commission (VEC). Mr. Suthep Kaengsantia, Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Education, also participated the event along with over 480 participants including administrators, teachers, students, and partners from both public and private sectors. The event which was broadcasted online through the VEC's public relations Facebook page was held at Pathumthani Vocational College.

The Ministry of Education is committed to addressing educational inequality to create opportunities and equality in education for all learners. This initiative aims to elevate education towards excellence and ensure a stable life, under the "Hold Hands and Go Together" approach, in line with the "Learn Well, Be Happy" policy. The ministry believes that every learner will find happiness if they receive equal educational opportunities. This activity, which develops potential and life skills for students with disabilities, opens opportunities for disabled people to study at VEC institutions according to the increasing demand. It also promotes the development of vocational skills (Up Skill, Re Skill) through 86 courses, with over 2,000 people with disabilities having already completed training.

Continuing to create educational and vocational opportunities for people with disabilities, the goal is to improve everyone's quality of life and enable full participation in the development of society.
