Thailand and Japan have officially partnered to establish Thailand as ASEAN’s leading rail knowledge center! Through international cooperation under the Third Country Training Program, the Mass Rapid Transit Authority of Thailand (MRTA), the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA), and the Thailand International Cooperation Agency (TICA) signed an academic collaboration agreement. This program shares Thailand’s expertise in electric rail system development with developing Asian countries.
Thailand will host training courses titled “MRTA Experience Sharing on Urban Rail Development, Operation, and Maintenance” for experts from six countries: Egypt, Vietnam, Indonesia, the Philippines, Bangladesh, and Thailand.
This partnership not only strengthens regional human resource capabilities but also reinforces Thailand’s role as ASEAN’s key rail knowledge hub, driving sustainable progress together.
