Urgent Flood Warning Issued for Wiang Sa in Nan

Authorities have issued an urgent warning for Wiang Sa district in Nan province after the Nan River overflowed its banks, threatening riverside communities and areas along its tributaries.

At Station N.13A in Ban Bunnak, the river is forecast to peak at 8.55 meters around noon on August 20, about 2.05 meters above the riverbank. Klang Wiang, Lai Nan, Khueng, and San subdistricts are among the areas facing high flood risk.

Residents have been urged to immediately move belongings, electrical appliances, and vehicles to higher ground. Children, older people, bedridden patients, people with disabilities, and others needing assistance should be evacuated from vulnerable areas without delay.

People requiring help or evacuation should urgently contact their local subdistrict headman, village headman, or local administrative organization. Communities near waterways have been advised to closely follow official warnings as water levels continue to rise.
