Thais Innovate! Showcasing the "Dust-Fighting Mosquito Net" A Practical Solution to Help Reduce Air Pollution and Address PM 2.5 in Chiang Mai

The innovation, "Dust-Fighting Mosquito Net" is a practical application of knowledge, and it is widely promoted by the Ministry of Public Health, particularly in Health Region 1, which includes eight northern provinces such as Chiang Mai, Chiang Rai, and Lampang, all of which have been continuously affected by PM 2.5 pollution. In addition to creating dust-free spaces in homes, the initiative also supports the establishment of dust-free rooms in hospitals, child development centers, and elderly care facilities.

With a budget of less than 2,000 baht, the "Dust-Fighting Mosquito Net" offers an effective solution. People can easily modify cotton mosquito nets for use with air purifiers at home, especially in homes with less sturdy structures, such as those with gaps or poorly sealed walls. The process is simple, and demonstrations have been provided to help residents understand and create their own solutions. Moreover, the extension meeting also featured exhibitions related to health monitoring systems and the management of fine particulate matter, focusing on educating the public on ways to reduce pollution and protect themselves from PM 2.5.

These efforts not only help mitigate health impacts on the population but also provide a sustainable approach to tackling long-term pollution issues. Vulnerable groups such as the elderly, young children, and respiratory patients will have easier access to dust-free areas in their daily lives.
