Thailand Positions Itself as a Global “Trusted Partner” amid Changing Global Trade Landscape

Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Commerce Suphajee Suthumpun has outlined Thailand’s trade vision, positioning the country as a global “Trusted Partner” at the special seminar “Thailand in a Changed World: How to Adapt to Moving Forward,” hosted by the Office of the National Economic and Social Development Council

As the global economic order continues to evolve, Thailand has identified three key priorities for its trade and marketing strategies: Build New Balance, Explore Growth Opportunities, and Expand.

The strategy aims to strengthen international partnerships while securing greater trade benefits by rebalancing existing trade relations and expanding into new markets.

The Deputy Prime Minister also emphasized that the key to enhancing economic cooperation in the new era is to move beyond being merely trade partners toward becoming “Global Supply Chain Partners” that can co-create value and ensure mutual benefits.

At home, she highlighted the need to reform the grassroots economy and enhance individual skills through three key pillars: Skills & Tools, Access to Capital, and Access to Markets.

The ultimate goal is to strengthen Thailand’s position as a regional leader while expanding opportunities for local entrepreneurs.
