Thailand Opens BOI Chengdu Office to Promote Bilateral Investment

Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Anutin Charnvirakul officially opened the Board of Investment (BOI) Chengdu Office and presided over the Thailand–China (Sichuan) Investment and Economic Forum 2026 on July 18, 2026, to attract Chinese investment and promote sustainable mutual growth.

In his keynote address at the Tianfu International Convention Center in Sichuan, the Prime Minister noted that Sichuan has a population of 80 million and is China's sixth-largest economy. He highlighted Thailand's position as an ASEAN hub, with standardized infrastructure, a skilled workforce, strong government support, and competitive BOI incentives. By leveraging these strengths, Thailand seeks to enhance economic, trade, and investment partnerships with Sichuan.

​The Prime Minister reaffirmed the administration's commitment to developing the Thai economy by supporting business operations, upskilling entrepreneurs, and strengthening economic foundations. He invited Chinese investors to expand into Thailand, emphasizing the country's readiness to serve as a secure and sustainable base for long-term success.

​After his address, the Prime Minister inaugurated the investment section of the Royal Thai Consulate-General in Chengdu. He also witnessed the signing of Memorandums of Understanding (MOUs) between Thai and Chinese private sector representatives. These agreements are expected to further advance bilateral trade, investment, and cooperation in emerging industries.
