Thailand Expands Tourism Cooperation With Vietnam at ITE HCMC

The Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) joined Gala Vietnam Night in Ho Chi Minh City on August 26, celebrating the 50th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Thailand and Vietnam while promoting closer tourism and business ties. The event was held during the International Travel Expo Ho Chi Minh City (ITE HCMC) 2026.

TAT Governor Thapanee Kiatphaibool attended on behalf of Tourism and Sports Minister Surasak Phancharoenworakul, alongside senior officials from ASEAN countries, Vietnamese authorities, tourism businesses, and industry partners. Tourism has become an important link between Thailand and Vietnam, supporting travel, economic activity, and cultural exchange.

TAT considers Vietnam a high-potential short-haul market and is seeking to increase travel between the two countries while expanding opportunities for Thai tourism businesses. ITE HCMC 2026 provides a venue for Thai operators to meet potential partners from Vietnam and other ASEAN markets, negotiate business opportunities, and develop new distribution channels.

Thailand will continue working with Vietnamese partners to promote quality tourism experiences, attract more visitors, and encourage repeat travel. Closer tourism cooperation is expected to support sustainable growth across both markets while deepening connections between the people of Thailand and Vietnam.
