Thai PM Arrives Russia for ASEAN- Russia Summit

Prime Minister Anutin Charnvirakul has arrived in Kazan, Russia, to attend the ASEAN-Russia Commemorative Summit from June 16 to 19, which commemorates the 35th anniversary of ASEAN-Russia relations. Senior Russian officials and representatives from the Royal Thai Embassy in Moscow welcomed the prime minister and his delegation upon their arrival.

Anutin and his spouse were received in accordance with Russian tradition and presented with bread, a symbol of friendship, hospitality, abundance, and goodwill. The prime minister is scheduled to participate in the ASEAN-Russia Business Forum, a gala dinner for leaders, and the Special ASEAN-Russia Summit.

The summit will include discussions on regional and international issues, as well as the future direction of ASEAN-Russia relations. Leaders will also exchange views with representatives of major regional economic organizations on expanding economic links between ASEAN and the Eurasian region and exploring opportunities in trade, investment, energy, technology, and food security.

Anutin is also scheduled to hold a bilateral meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin to discuss cooperation in economic development, trade, investment, energy, and technology before returning to Thailand on June 19.
