Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, Sihasak Phuangketkeow, received a telephone call from the U.S. Deputy Secretary of State, Christopher Landau. The discussion focused on reafirming the longstanding alliance and commitment to enhance strategic partnership between Thailand and the U.S.
The U.S. Deputy Secretary of State reiterated the U.S.'s commitment to strengthening the longstanding alliance between the two countries, that has spanned over many decades. The alliance is the anchor of the U.S. relations with Southeast Asia.
The U.S. Deputy Secretary of State also said that he looks forward to welcoming Thailand's Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs for the upcoming visit to the U.S. Pacific Command (USPACOM) to coordinate security cooperation plans between the two countries.
For Thai side, Mr. Sihasak reaffirmed the Thailand - U.S. alliance. Thailand stands ready to work closely with the U.S. to expand cooperation in all areas, especially in defense, security, and high-level engagement.
