The National Innovation Agency (NIA) has partnered in organizing the Mahidol x Harvard Health Systems Innovation Lab Hackathon 2026, aiming to expand opportunities for Thailand’s medical innovation industry and strengthen international collaboration.
NIA joined as a strategic partner to support the development of Thailand’s medical innovation ecosystem in line with its Thailand Medical Innovation Hub initiative. The programme seeks to position Thailand as a global center for medical innovation and drive the wellness economy through advancements in healthcare, technology, and well-being.
The initiative focuses on four key areas: strengthening the innovation ecosystem, accelerating deep-tech commercialization, enhancing talent and infrastructure, and promoting investment and global market connections. The event also supports collaboration within the Yothi Medical Innovation District, bringing together stakeholders from academia, industry, and the public sector.
The hackathon serves as an international innovation platform centered on artificial intelligence and health systems solutions. Participants work on real-world healthcare challenges while receiving mentorship from global experts from Harvard, healthcare specialists, and leaders from the health technology industry. The programme is designed to promote practical innovation, encourage cross-sector collaboration, and support sustainable development of Thailand’s healthcare system.
