Green Industry 2024 Achieving Sustainable Success While Caring for Communities and the Environment

The Ministry of Industry is pushing forward the development of Thailand’s industry into a "Green Industry" to ensure sustainability in all sectors, while also caring for the environment and communities. The focus is on maximizing resource efficiency, reducing greenhouse gas emissions, and promoting sustainable production and consumption, aligning with the BCG (Bio-Circular-Green Economy) concept that the Thai government is advocating.

The Ministry of Industry has outlined three key policy reforms :

1. Managing waste and toxic substances affecting people's lives
2. Enhancing safety and efficiency in the industrial sector (Save Thai Industry)
3. Promoting a new industrial economy, focusing on achieving carbon neutrality and reducing net greenhouse gas emissions to zero (Net Zero Emissions).

In 2024, the Green Industry certification program will recognize establishments across various levels, granting benefits such as the use of the Green Industry (GI) logo on products, financial support, and expanded market opportunities. High-level certified establishments will also receive investment support and other benefits to help them operate efficiently and sustainably.

Promoting the Green Industry in 2024 addresses both economic and environmental needs, enhancing the competitiveness of Thai businesses while reducing environmental impacts and supporting sustainable community income distribution.
