The EEC has revealed its success in attracting foreign investment and developing infrastructure to strengthen the Thai economy. The EEC has promoted four key public-private partnership (PPP) projects:
- U-Tapao Airport: A joint venture between the government and the private sector, where the private sector will construct the terminal building and the government will construct the airport runway. The project is expected to be completed as planned by 2027.
- Laem Chabang Port: A project to expand the port to accommodate more containers, with operations expected to begin in 2027.
- Map Ta Phut Port: A project to accommodate LNG transport ships for electricity generation. The land reclamation has already been completed, and the construction is proceeding as planned, with operations expected to start in 2027.
- High-Speed Rail Connecting Three Airports: A project linking Don Mueang, Suvarnabhumi, and U-Tapao airports. The project is expected to be completed between 2027 and 2028.
In addition, the EEC offers many industries waiting for interested investors to join in creating the EEC business center and new, smart, livable cities.
