EEC Development Never Stops: A Thriving Magnet for Global Investors!

The Thai government’s Cabinet has given the green light to the Board of Investment (BOI) for its proposed investment promotion plan in the Eastern Economic Corridor (EEC). This strategic initiative aims to attract substantial investments, totaling more than 210 billion baht, by engaging in negotiations with 30 private sector companies across five key industries.

The main goal is to attract 100 billion baht of Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) per year, focusing on BCG industries, electric vehicles, digital, electronics, medical, health, and future services. The EEC also plans to expand the new city area from 5,700 rai to 14,000 rai, accommodating 300,000 people within 10 years. This new area will be developed into a modern smart city, emphasizing clean energy, advanced technology, and a green environment.

A key highlight is the collaboration with the Industrial Estate Authority of Thailand (IEAT) to develop a 5,000-rai green industrial estate and with the Sports Authority of Thailand (SAT) to develop a 1,500-rai sports complex. This announcement takes effect on December 20, 2023, and negotiations on benefits with interested investors will begin in July 2024.

The EEC is stepping into a new era, determined to develop into an economic hub, drive investment, create jobs, and improve the quality of life for people in the region.

Get ready for a major transformation that will propel the EEC to become Thailand's number one investment destination!
